About Us

Welcome to Our Blog.

Shanna and I first met by one of my friends dating Shanna’s sister, Megan. I knew Shanna for about 3-4 years but never really had much interaction with her conversational wise until late 2007. Mostly I would talk to her online through messaging programs because I wasn’t a phone person at all. We really didn’t start talking daily until April of 2008. I remember that because it was the season opener for the Rays and I had recorded the game on television. She called my phone later that night before I had watched that game and she said something along the lines of, “It looks like the Rays won their home opener.” I said, “Really? Dang, I had recorded the game and I was going to watch it later.” I must have had a tone with her like I was upset because she kept apologizing for the next couple days. I told her that it wasn’t a big deal, but she got wind from someone else that I was super mad when I really wasn’t. Shanna told me that every time the Rays won, I should call her because she wouldn’t know when/if I recorded the game and she didn’t want to ruin it for me. When the Rays won around 40 games and I had only called her a handful of times, and since I had a Rays ticket package, I decided to start inviting her to games. I realized how much I enjoyed spending my time with her and how much she made me laugh and smile. We would call/text/message each other more and more every day. At one point I believe I had a combined 2,000 messages to her alone. I finally built up the courage and told Shanna how I felt about her. She admitted to having feelings for me as well. I spoke to her father asking if it would be okay if I dated his daughter, we got the OK.

After the season was over we spent as much time as we possibly could together whether it was going to the movies or spending time at the house, we started falling in love with each other. In fact one of the first places we went to together was Shane and Colleen Riddle’s wedding. People were already asking us when Shanna and I were getting married. We both looked at each other and said, “We’ve only been dating for a week” The rest is pretty much history. Everyone could clearly recognize that we were both smitten for each other and knew.

On Friday, September 18, 2009 I proposed to Shanna at her home. We had a Rays game we were going to that night. I had gotten to her house early and when she came home from work, she said, “Hey Daniel, I’m going to wear your Rays hat tonight, okay? I’m going to wear some of the perfume you bought for me too.” Just when she started to walk away I grabbed her hand and said, “Maybe you can wear something else for me too.” I held the engagement ring in my hand and she looked at it, paused for a second and said, “Is that my engagement ring!?” I said, “Yes it is” and got down on one knee and said, “Shanna Marie Riddle, will you marry me?” With a huge smile on her face and my shaky hand holding her hand said “Of course I will” and I placed the ring on her finger.

We Married in Fort Myers Beach on 4/24/10.

  1. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I believe that you must write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

  2. Where could I see the same wordpress guide identical to yours? is it harmonious with the latest 3.1? cheers

  3. Wow, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get something done.
